REYNOLDS, ND (August 3) - Last weekend the Home of Economy/American Crystal Sugar team competed in a pair of NOSA events, beginning Friday night at River Cities Speedway.
To begin the night, a fifth place finish in heat race number two put Jordan Adams behind the eight ball as that put him deep in the starting field for the 25-lap Buffalo Wild Wings main event. Between the heat and feature, however, the crew found some speed in the Tony Anderson Construction machine as Jordan was able to make his way through the field.
“We started 14th and hung around there for a while,” said Jordan. “I started to get a little more aggressive towards the middle of the race and we started moving forward. There wasn't really a bottom to pass so you had to do a slide job. We had a faster car than where we finished I think. It took about 10 tries to successfully complete a pass.”
When the checkers flew Adams had advanced five positions from his original starting spot, placing him in ninth.
Saturday night took the team to Greenbush Race Park in Greenbush, MN for the first event of 2016 at the newly reconfigured quarter-mile dirt oval. Jordan all but had his heat race won, but a stroke of bad luck found the #20A sprinter.
“We started 4th and were leading by the completion of the first lap,” continued Jordan. “We checked out to a half lap lead over second and were coming up to a lapped car and caught his rear bumper, which caused our front bumper to fall off. We got called for the debris caution so we had to go to the back, but fought back to third in three laps.”
In the main event Jordan started eighth, but picked off a few positions to finish in fifth.
“Considering the mishap with the heat race, we were lucky to come away with a top five as the track took rubber midway through,” concluded Jordan.
Adams currently sits seventh in the River Cities Speedway point standings, just 17 markers out of the top five. Current NOSA points are not yet available.
