REYNOLDS, N.D. – The Jordan Adams Racing team is excited to welcome the Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley as a partner for this coming season.
New to the world of dirt track and sprint car racing, Erica Johnsrud, development director at the Ronald McDonald House of the Red River Valley, said she is excited to be a part of Adams’ race team. “Jordan has done a fundraiser for us before. He has a heart for the mission so we are excited to partner,” said Johnsrud. “We will really be promoting our Pop Tabs program. It is really incredible to see when you get a lot of people saving those how quickly they add up to make a big difference.” The Pop Tabs program collects the aluminum tabs from soda, soup and other cans. Those tabs are then recycled and those proceeds go towards supporting families and children at the Ronald McDonald House. “We are going to try to get as many people involved as possible and spread the word about our mission,” added Johnsrud. “My family has used the services of the Ronald McDonald House in the past. It’s a really great facility to have for families that are in need in a tough time,” said Adams. “I encourage all of the fans to start collecting your pop tabs today to help us with our season-long pop tab collection campaign.” About the Ronald McDonald House: The first Ronald McDonald House opened in Philadelphia, PA, in 1974, after recognizing the need for parents to stay close to their hospitalized child. As more House programs opened around the world, it became clear that caring for the family of a sick child was as important as caring for the child. That was the beginning of the Ronald McDonald House’s unique role as a children’s charity, enabling, supporting and facilitating family-centered care. The Ronald McDonald House programs, located near top children’s hospitals, allow parents who are far from home to stay close to their hospitalized child and benefit from the comforts of home without incurring hotel and food costs. Ronald McDonald Family Room programs offer a quiet respite for all families right in the hospital. Ronald McDonald Care Mobile programs bring fundamental medical and dental care to underserved communities.
